OLUX-E^® Foam contains clobetasol propionate, a powerful Class I super-potent topical steroid. Clobetasol has been used for many years in various formulations, such as creams, ointments, lotions, and foam. But now it is available in an emollient foam formulation made specially for the body. The foam goes on silky smooth, is easy to use, and contains no ethanol.

Although there are many treatments for body dermatoses, some may be more appealing to put on than others. Some feel sticky or greasy. Some don't spread easily over the affected areas.

Safe and Effective

OLUX-E^® Foam has been proven safe and effective for use in patients 12 years of age or older. In clinical studies of patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) and mild to moderate plaque psoriasis, OLUX-E^® Foam significantly reduced itching and inflammatory symptoms in 2 weeks.

Safety Information

OLUX-E^® Foam is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, which include eczema and psoriasis, in patients 12 years of age or older.

Treatment should be limited to 2 consecutive weeks and patients should not use greater than 50 grams per week, or 1 and 1/2 capfuls per application twice daily.

This medication is to be used as directed by the physician. It is for external use only. Unless directed by the prescriber, it should not be used on the face, or in skin-fold areas, such as the underarms or groin. Avoid contact with the eyes or other mucous membranes. Wash hands after use.

OLUX-E^® Foam contains a corticosteroid. Your body also makes corticosteroids. Like other medications that contain a corticosteroid, OLUX-E^® Foam may temporarily reduce the activity of your body's own corticosteroid producing system.

In clinical trials, the most common adverse events associated with the use of OLUX-E^® Foam were skin thinning and other reactions at the application site.
